Workshops led by Françoise Rogier
Scratch card
The children cover a sheet of paper completely with oil pastels. Then, using a large brush or roller, they coat the entire sheet with black gouache. When the cards are dry, the children can create their drawings by scratching the black surface with an object such as a toothpick or skewer..
Monotype
A non-porous support (Plexiglas, transparent plastic sheet) is painted with a little greasy ink. A sheet of paper is placed on top and the artist draws on it. The ink settles where the pencil has passed over it, producing an inverted drawing with irregular lines. As the support is not engraved, several prints can be made..
How to construct a story in pictures
Look at different albums to see what the images are telling. Discover their graphic styles, the technique used, the colours and what they suggest. What atmosphere for what story? In what format? Using well-known stories as a starting point, we'll put a story into pictures using techniques that are simple and accessible to everyone. Everyone will be able to bring their own personal vision and choice of interpretation, according to their own sensitivity.
